I’ve been binge watching Netflix

For the past two months, I have been back to work instead of working remotely and boy, have I been busy! With my work schedule, I haven’t had that much time to binge watch anything. It’s been a blessing that the project we were working on ended prematurely because we were stressed out all the time.

Enough about work, let’s talk about the show I watched. The show is called, “Who Killed Sara?”, a series from Mexico about a guy (Alex) who was incarcerated because he was falsely accused of killing his own sister. After serving 18 years, he was released for good behaviour. Now, he is seeking revenge for what was done to him and to find out who killed his sister. The people he’s targeting are his old friends, the Lazcano family.

Okay so who the hell did it?

18 years ago, Cesar Lazcano promised Alex that if he takes the fall, he will only be in prison for a few months tops. Cesar made Alex the scapegoat to save his own family, especially his son, Rodolfo who was also Sara’s boyfriend at the time.

I got excited for this. Not only do we have a thriller/mystery but I expected it to be Edmond Dantès level of revenge, right? In prison, Alex learned about computers and hacking, I think, so that he can infiltrate the Lazcano’s private information. He also had help from another inmate who was also falsely accused and wanted revenge for what the Lazcano family did to his daughter.

Proof that he’s learning about computers and deep web and stuff

When Alex started his plot for revenge, I did not expect him to not only make his old home as the “base of operations”, but he also set-up his PC in the living room. He pasted all of the targets’ pics on the walls. So all his guests who can pretty much walk-in and out of the house can see what he’s up to. I don’t know about you, but I thought he wanted to be stealthy about his whereabouts, at least. Which was hilarious because Cesar sent people to that house to beat him up, in the first episode, no less! On the other hand, I think it makes sense as a convenient plot device to get him and the youngest Lazcano daughter to hook up.

Alex and his set-up

Anyway, I decided to look past all those little details and focus on the story and it’s pretty dark. Cesar is a pretty messed up guy for not just running a prostitution ring in the basement of his casino, apparently he also has some sort of weird complex of sleeping with his in-laws. Although I have to agree that Rodolfo’s wife, Sofia is pretty hot. You wouldn’t want to leave her home alone, cabrón.

Sofia looks troubled because she’s screwed

As the story progresses, more questions pop up than answered. We still don’t know who killed Sara, or is she even dead? There are more things to uncover in season 2 airing on 19 May.

What else should I watch now?
